Lent Devotion for April 10

Reflecting on John 12:9-19

This scripture spoke to me about the works of God and how people wanted to see a miracle happen in front of them instead of believing and not seeing. As Christians today, we constantly struggle with the question, “Is God real; is he even worth believing in to begin with?”
The answer to that is found within this passage since the chief priest wanted to kill Lazarus, not because of fearing what had happened, but because Jesus gave faith to those people. He created hope and the chief priest wanted to instill fear in the people and did not want to give up his position of control.
To answer the questions above, yes, we as a follower of Jesus should believe in Him even if we have not seen a miracle. It is better to have hope and faith in Christ than to have fear in our hearts, turning away from God, leading an unrepentant life.

Do you need to see a miracle to believe in Christ our Lord?
