Reflecting on John 17
As Jesus prepared for his last days on earth, He turned to God to pray for his disciples. Jesus knew that they were special. God had placed them in his path. God had “given” them to Jesus for a season to prepare them for what they would do next.
My husband, Jim, and I have been youth leaders for over 20 years. We have journeyed with youth through all phases– awkward, curious, and rebellious. We watched them change and grow, learn and experiment. These youth were “given” to us. God entrusted them to us for a time. And yet, they were His. We prayed with them and for them, over them and about them. We still do. We are truly thankful for the time we shared with them and the way each one impacted and changed us.
Who are the important people that God has entrusted to you? May you constantly remember to pray for them and thank God for giving them to you, for they are His.
