I was having a conversation with some guest last week about the way FaithPoint does Sunday mornings. I made the comment that there are times where it is better for me to get out of the way then some of our teams are setting-up or breaking down for the day because they are really good at working together.
As I was reflecting on the conversation I was thinking that many in the FaithPoint community may not realize all of the ministry teams that are involved with getting us up and going on any given Sunday. So I thought I would just share a little but about the hands that work behind the scenes.
Mobile Ministry: These are the folks who get the truck and all of our equipment to and from the middle school. They are the hands behind the set-up and break-down of our worship space on Sunday morning. They come to worship at 8:30 and leave a little before noon. They are essential to how FaithPoint does weekend worship.
Hospitality–these are the folks who bring the treats each week and make sure that there is coffee that is hot and water that is iced. They make things look pretty so that you can enjoy a snack and beverage when you come to worship.
Greeters– These are some of the first faces you see. The smile and welcome you, answer questions you might have about our time together or where different things are located.
A/V- This is the team that acts as our digital storytellers, stained glass and hymnal. They run the wires, interface with the band. play the videos and mix it all together to enhance the worship experience for everyone.
Music Ministry–This team works hard week after week to rehearse, learn and offer up our music each weekend. They are a great team with strong leadership.
Children’s Ministry–The children’s ministry team creates a fun place where our children can learn about their faith and have a great time.
Nursery–Out nursery staff make sure that our little ones are taken care of to the best level of care. The set up the room, play with our kids and are much loved by all of the little ones who come into their care.
Care and connect/prayer chain- This team makes sure that we follow up with any prayers or request that happen during worship. They are a huge part of how we care for one another.
Communications- We can’t forget about communicating with one another. Sending out the weekly e-note, letting the community know about any changes or announcements, and generally keeping the lines of communication open
Design team- the worship design team works with the pastor and musicians to outline each series and how it will look and feel starting with a main theme, scripture or idea and working though the image, music themes, space setup, lighting and much more.
This is a quick snippet of what goes into making Sunday morning worship happen. There are others who have their hands involves too. However even this quick glance shows that we are a community that relies on many hands to make our time together meaningful and relevant.
To those of you who are part of a team. Thanks for serving. We literally can’t do it with you.
To those who have been thinking about connecting, your service is welcome and we know you will be blessed in the process.
