Weekend Worship

Weekend Worship

What to Expect on a Sunday @ Faithpoint:

We meet in the cafeteria of Urbana Middle School.  This means that it feels like a middle school cafeteria rather than a church with stained glass and organ pipes.  Also it means that if you spill your coffee on the floor it will wipe right up like the spills that happen at school Monday-Friday.

We have one worship celebration at 10:00.  Worship lasts about an hour, and we will finish no later than 11:15.  The music is contemporary, so you will hear lots of the same music you hear on the local christian radio station.  however we will bring out anything from a hymn to songs trending on the Billboard charts when it fits with the theme of worship.

When you are getting ready in the morning and want to know what to wear…well that is up to you.  We are a casual congregation.  We want you to be comfortable and ready to encounter God.  If that means wearing a tie great, shorts perfect, your new pair of ugg boots wonderful (just maybe not all at the same time, but you make that call).

We have a fantastic children’s ministry that meets during worship.  This way mom and dad can be fully present in worship while knowing that the little ones are having a great time in Children’s worship.  Young people are always welcome in the worship service and parents are always welcome to hang out and see what the children are doing too.

Kids

We feel it is important to encourage the faith development of our kids to be a part of the larger worshiping body on Sunday mornings.  This means that our children begin in worship with everyone through the first song, prayer and witness to what God is up to at FaithPoint.  Then they are invited to go back to our children’s ministry areas where they will study, play and reinforce some great Bible based teaching from our wonderful children’s ministry team.  They will rejoin the congregation at the end of the worship service.

This balance of multi-generational worship and age specific messages has helped out kids grow in their faith and have more ownership over their church.  If you would like to accompany your child in the children’s ministry time you are more then welcome to do so.  It would be helpful to let our leaders know that before or as you go back with your child.

Nursery

We have a wonderfully trained staff of nursery workers that have a great time with the littlest of our community.  Each of our nursery staff are trained and have undergone background checks and interviews to make sure we are able to offer the top tier to your child or children.  We always have at least 2 workers in the nursery at all times for the safety and flexibility of our community.

Your child is welcome to stay with you in worship.  No need to hush them or feel as though they are a distraction.  However, the nursery is an option when you and your child feel like it is a fun option.

More On The Worship Space

One of the great parts about being a mobile congregation is that we get to set up each week (ok, ok it is also a bit of a challenge too).  We continually are looking at better ways to to set up our worship space as we grow, to best fit the needs of a current series or for a special service.

Any Other Questions
