Reflecting on Romans 10: 14 – 21
Have you ever had some really great news? Maybe you just got engaged. How did you feel? I bet you were ecstatic. And in all of your excitement, did you want to keep it to yourself or did you want to tell everyone you knew? I am sure you made phone calls, sent emails, and you probably put the great news in the newspaper. You wanted to share your great news with everyone. You proclaimed it to everyone you knew.
As we enter this Lenten season, we are about to come upon the greatest news of all time. That news is that Jesus Christ died for your sins. He has forgiven you of all of your sins and has guaranteed you a place with him in heaven. If you can tell the world about your engagement, how can you not proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and your free gift of grace to all?
Romans 10:14 “ . . . how are they to call on one in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him?”
