Prayer Meets Pavement

Prayer Meets Pavement

The weekend is almost here! I am more excited about this weekend than any in a long time (and I didn’t even have to preach last weekend).  This is all because we are beginning a new teaching series about what it means to be part of a faith community.  We are going to kick off the series with a weekend focused on prayer.  We are not just going to talk about prayer, but we are going to go into the community and pray!

For the past couple of months I have been running through the trails, sidewalks, and roads of Urbana praying for the people I encounter, the commuters I pass, the businesses that go by.  I have close to 50 miles or so where my prayers have met the pavement of Urbana.  This weekend the prayer mileage  is going to go up, way up.  There are a ton of ways you can pray this weekend.  We might pray for the students in the schools, the people who are unemployed or underemployed, we can pray for justice, for others to know Christ, for young people to see that they have been made for great things…

Come and join us this weekend at the middle school and find your own adventure in prayer.

Be God’s
