Holy Spirit Who? Father, Son Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit Who? Father, Son Holy Spirit

Good Morning FaithPoint,

Today we continue to celebrate that some big milestones and commitments that were made by 7 of our young people last weekend. This week is a week to continue to celebrate as we have Frederick County young people around the county who have been “cut loose” in the world in some ways now that the Frederick County graduation ceremonies are complete. We pray for the choices that they are to make in the new chapters of their lives. In many ways they have been given the tools that will last a lifetime, and now they will put their tools to use.

In a similar way, the church has been called to use the tools that it has been given. These tools are bound together and guided through the Holy Spirit. Last Sunday, we didn’t just welcome our young people into membership, but we also upheld our covenant as members of the church. We realize that Christ gave us a number of tools and the gift of the Holy Spirit. But what does this gift mean? We aren’t always sure what that means. We talk about the Holy Spirit, but sometimes that feels like warm and fuzzy language. Yet, at times the Spirit convicts, guides, and leads. So who is the Holy Spirit? This weekend we are beginning a 3 week study focusing on the Holy Spirit and how you might hear the call of the Holy Spirit in your life. I am really excited about beginning this series. I know you will be blessed by it and will come to know the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit in your life. We would love to hear a story about when you have see the Spirit working in your life. Sharing these stories will help enrich our understanding of the Spirit.
See you this weekend.

Be God’s,
Pastor Chris

Focus Verse:

6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. ,

Weekend Spotlight: Bible School Love Fast

For the next 3 weeks, we will be spotlighting and encouraging sacrificial giving to our love fast to support and offset the cost of our Vacation Bible School. The average cost per child is $40. We offer Bible School as a ministry to our large community. We need your (every single FaithPoint Community member) support to make it a great week. Even if you can’t be with the kids at VBS you can support them through your prayers and gifts.  If you would like to help support VBS campers financially as well, please click here and choose “love fast” from the account dropdown to make your donation.

Still need to register your VBS camper or volunteer?

Write your own creed:

Like our confirmands, we are inviting you to put into writing your personal beliefs. We have worked on a worksheet that will help you to work through this process using the Apostle’s Creed as a guide.
