Lent Devotion for March 20

Reflecting on Psalm 77

The Israelites had fled their former lives in Egypt. Moses and his brother, Aaron, had led them into the desert wilderness. They made camp for the night, having just finished a supper of manna food that God had dropped from the sky.
Men, women and children gather by the campfire for some family entertainment. It’s here that the dramatic retelling of their epic journey across the Red Sea begins . . .
“When the Red Sea saw you, Oh God, Its water looked and trembled! The sea quaked to its very depths.
The clouds poured down rain; The thunder rumbled in the sky. Your arrows of lightning flashed.
Your thunder roared from the whirlwind; The lightning lit up the world! The earth trembled and shook.
Your road led through the sea, Your pathway through the mighty waters – A pathway no one knew was there!

What hard roads have you travelled in the past?     What hard roads are you travelling now?
Do you trust that God will provide, leading you safely on “a pathway no one knew was there”?
Tell someone about God’s provision to you.
